Full Day:
Full day cycling tour, west of Vang Vieng
Vang Vieng’s surrounding natural area offers breathtaking views and many caves for visiting. The cycling tour contains mainly rocky dirt roads and sometimes wet river crossings, if no small foot bridges available. Starting from the Elephant Crossing Hotel, we cycle first trough the town center before we cross the Nam Song River. We follow a rocky dirt road, located between steep karst mountains along the Nam Ka River and many rice fields. The Poukham Cave is one of the longest and inaccessible caves in this region, but it is already worth seeing the spectacular 200 meter wide entrance of the cave. After the cave visit, we continue on a rough road to Phonexay Village, where the road will make a left turn around the mountain in the valley of the Nam Koang River. A Picnic Lunch Box will be provided along the way at a place free of choice. At Namoung Village, we can choose to go back via a shortcut or we continue on the dirt road until we reach the paved highway, from where it is easy cycling back to Vang Vieng’s center.
